What We Do…

Cataract Surgery:

Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed procedures at our practice and throughout the country.A cataract is the clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. During cataract surgery, the eye’s natural, cloudy lens is removed and replaced with an artificial lens to restore clear vision.

More than 50% of people over the age of 80 have cataracts or have had cataract surgery. Some 90% of people have successful surgery, which is improvement in vision.

Our cataract surgery procedure is pain free, non stitch (excludes rare cases) and takes approximately 15-20 minutes to perform in an out patient setting.

Have you been diagnosed with cataract & considering surgery; call our office to schedule an appointment for further evaluation.

Glaucoma Treatment:

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that can cause vision loss and blindness by damaging a nerve in the back of your eye called the optic nerve.

There are several different categories of glaucoma which include: Open Angle Glaucoma, Narrow Angle Glaucoma, Normal tension Glaucoma, Congenital Glaucoma and Secondary Glaucoma.

The damage caused by glaucoma can't be reversed. But treatment and regular checkups can help slow or prevent vision loss, especially if you catch the disease in its early stages.

Glaucoma is treated by lowering intraocular pressure. Treatment options include prescription eye drops, oral medicines, laser treatment, surgery or a combination of approaches.

Glaucoma has no symptoms in it’s early stage. In fact, half the people with glaucoma do not know they have it! Having regular eye exams can help your ophthalmologist find this disease before you lose vision. Your ophthalmologist can tell you how often you should be examined.

Dry Eye Treatment:

Dry eye is a condition when your eyes don't make enough tears to stay wet, or when your tears don't work correctly. This can make your eyes feel uncomfortable, and in some cases it can also cause vision problems & other symptoms. Dry eye is common and it affects millions of Americans every year.

Dry eye symptoms include a dry, gritty or burning sensation in the eyes, redness, watery or teary eyes and mucus that make the eyes feel "glued shut" after sleeping.

Certain medical conditions including Sjogren's syndrome, allergic eye disease, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus & thyroid disease can make this condition worst.

Initial treatment for dry eyes includes the use of artificial tears, prescription lubricating drops, punctual plugs, Bruder mask & most advanced treatment such as tear care system.
